ART + ACTION = ART-IVISM
C2O Rhythm & Arts activities & engagements are inspired and guided by ancient and ancestral wisdom, values, rituals & philosophies; with a deep intention to BE THE CHANGE we want to see.
We actively seek opportunities to partner and collaborate with Artists, Arts Organizations and Supporters to create and promote radical change that positively impacts BIPOC peoples & communities.
Much of our arts activism work is centered around economic & housing justice and space preservation & ownership for BIPOC Artist & ally communities.
As much as possible, we seek to promote, support, collaborate, and partner with individuals & organizations whose work reflects these same principles.
"Can I be an Oakland Artist if I no longer live in Oakland?" - A tribute to the Oakland muralists who amplify our voices and our stories through their art, and keep us present even when our bodies are absent.

HOUSING EQUITY & JUSTICE
Safe, affordable, sustainable housing is a right, not a luxury.
Our current socio, political & economic systems do not reflect this truth for most BIPOC communities. We must do our individual AND collective parts to call this truth into manifestation. It is imperative to the health, wealth and success of future BIPOC generations that BIPOC communities co-own and co-steward the lands and properties on which they live and work.

CULTURAL SPACE PRESERVATION
BIPOC Artists need spaces to create.
BIPOC Artists need spaces to perform.
BIPOC Artists need spaces to rehearse.
BIPOC Artists need spaces to just BE ARTISTS.
BIPOC Artists need these spaces to be accessible, affordable
and safe (physically, mentally & spiritually).
BIPOC Artists need our cultural spaces.
BIPOC Artists need MORE cultural spaces.

COOPERATIVE ECONOMICS
BIPOC communities have been historically marginalized and, in many cases, prevented from growing inter-generational wealth. Today, BIPOC communities continue to be exploited and assaulted by a prevailing culture of racism & capitalism.
It's time to re-imagine and activate a just, equitable economic system that emphasizes the repair, restoration and re-investment of land, property and income in BIPOC communities.
